"Many People may live their entire lives, unaware of the huge benefits chiropractic care can provide for their health. Unfortunately, my first chiropractic adjustment wasn't until I had a severe injury to my spine at the age of 21. I lived in constant pain and dysfunction for almost 2 years until a friend convinced me  that I needed to see a Chiropractor. After my first adjustment, I had an 80% reduction in pain, my head was clearer than ever before, I had more energy and I could tell, something was different about me. I learned that my nervous system, which had been dysfunctional for so long, was now balancing and coordinating the way it was supposed to and I was healthier because of it. Chiropractic changed my life in such a positive way, I began researching and discovering exactly what chiropractic was all about and made it my mission to bring this service to my community." -Dr. Taglio

What we do

What is the Gonstead Chiropractic Technique?
The Gonstead system of analysis uniquely emphasizes specificity, as it applies to which vertebrae is adjusted and in which direction. Rather than a more global approach, where any or all levels of involvement are adjusted on the same visit, Gonstead adjustments are directed at specifically selected levels of involvement for maximum restoration and balance of function. Balance and stability in the spine may be restored when the body's foundation (legs, pelvis and vertebrae) are level. Gonstead adjustments target unleveling, vertebral misalignments, dysfunctional movement and nerve dysfunction.
The Gonstead System utilizes several methods of examination to analyze several factors, to isolate where the problem lies within the spine, pelvis and intervertebral discs as well as neurological manifestations of vertebral subluxation and the health of the body as a whole. Full spine radiography is an important assessment tool in the Gonstead system, utilizing line measurements to assess positions of vertebrae and the pelvis to direct an appropriate precise adjustment to the levels involved.

Chiropractic is a natural method of healing founded upon the premise that when spinal bones are functioning in normal motion and position, the central nervous system can deliver its vital energy for the proper function of the body's tissues, organs and systems. With this philosophy, Chiropractic is not simply treatment for pain. When the body's structures become misaligned or out of balance, dysfunction results, causing pain and interference within the nervous system, ultimately affecting your health.
Chiropractic focuses on finding and correcting the cause of conditions and dysfuntion, rather than treating the symptoms. While chiropractic addresses all aspects of health, the neurological system is the most important as it controls everything in your body. Chiropractic restores movement and function to the body and nerve system, allowing your body to heal itself of conditions and function at an optimal level of health.
Maintaining the health of your spine is important, after goals have been reached and your initial spinal problems have been corrected. By getting a regular spinal check once a month or so, you are not only maintaining the progress you have made, but also preventing your problem from returning. Maintenance care has been shown to be the most cost effective; it costs less (in the long run) to maintain the health of your spine.

The most effective type of exercise to raise HGH levels is strength training. The body should be pushed to the limit with exercises focused on strength and intensity, ideally through weight training (squats, bench press, deadlifts etc.) performing 3 sets of 5-8 reps at max effort. If you are not experienced with this type of weight training, it is critical that you get the proper instruction and guidance from a personal trainer, who is trained in how to do this properly without causing injury.
Strenuous short bursts of anaerobic (HIIT) type exercise (such as sprints) will also enhance HGH levels, but to a lesser degree. Research has shown that people who used High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) lost nine times more fat than people who performed standard cardio exercise (even though they exercised 1/2 the amount of time and as long and expended 50% less calories). This result is due to high HGH levels secreted after HIIT. Long, endurance-type cardio will not provide the same results and will actually work against you. The higher the intensity, the higher the HGH output, which has fat burning effects that can last up to 2 days post workout. Again, it is imperative that you learn how to perform this type of exercise properly and under the guidance of a trainer, if you are inexperienced.
Nutritional status is also key in enhancing HGH levels. Results will be maximized if you are consuming a nutrient rich diet, supplying your body with the right proteins, minerals, vitamins and antioxidants.
If you are in need of nutritional guidance or recommendations for the right Personal Trainer who is familiar with this type of exercise, please do not hesitate to call our office, we are happy to be a health resource for you.
